Success is a finished book, a stack of pages each of which is filled with words. If you reach that point, you have won a victory over yourself no less impressive than sailing single-handed around the world. - Tom Clancy

To me the greatest pleasure of writing is not what it's about, but the music the words make. - Truman Capote

My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way. -Ernest Hemingway

If the writing is honest it cannot be separated from the man who wrote it.
-Unknown

If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.  -Toni Morrison

Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.  -William Wordsworth

 Love, Purity and Life....

The sun was overhead, the water was still and the 7 friends were huddled around the cooler enjoying the view of
Lake Michigan. 'Twas a warm sunny day with few clouds in the sky. Some kids were playing in the water on the shoreline. The 7 friends watched the kids for a bit and then someone said, " I am hungry. Let's eat lunch." The guys of the group rummaged through everything and got it ready to eat. Before long they were all sitting together chatting about life, love and purity as philosophies and enjoying the picnic lunch they had brought with them to the lake front.
After some time dark rain clouds rolled in with the wind. As the rain drops began to tumble to the ground the friends put the conversation on pause. They rushed to the sporty cars they had driven from the city. They began to climb the hills out to leave the lake front. The kids that were playing in the water ran to their parents who wrapped them in colorful raincoats. The powerful engine urged the sleek car past the fascinated kids buried under their bright raincoats. As the drove on the conversation once again started.
The closer they got to the city the more heated and intense the conversation became. Each stated which was more important and what each meant. Just out side of the city one of the friends said, "Wait listen to what I have to say. I have figured it out. Love is the greatest emotion, and for many is a lifetime search to find that one true love. Purity is the origin of everything and is the ideal return to everything. Life is a puzzle in which everyone is in search of the solution. So for everything, It is a lifetime search for the best of love, purity, and life." Just as she finished they pulled into the parking lot. All the other friends were left speechless and with a million thoughts running through their minds.

In search of a soul mate... A day in the life

She was staring blankly at her computer screen. It was just another normal day at the office. It was normal "Windy City" day as far as weather was concerned. The morning hours had been pretty quiet and relatively slow. All of a sudden a knock at her door brought her back to reality. It was her friend Mai. She just sat there and watched as Mai walked to the chairs before her desk. Mai gave her one look and said, "What is up with you today?!" She just looked up and said, " Mai, i am so confused anymore. I don't understand what is going on. Ever since I got back from visiting him everything is different. I can't sleep at night...I keep having dreams of all kinds...and when it comes to waking up in the morning I just don't want to get out of bed. For the past week I just lay in bed until it is time that I should be leaving to go to the office. I get to work late and the whole time I am so distracted. Seriously, my concentration has gone from the normal level of 96 to 6. Today James asked me why I was so late getting to the office...The feelings that I have for him are feelings that I have never ever felt before...In my whole Life! I just long to be close to him and spend time with him." With that the phone rang. "One minute Mai." She hung up the phone and said, "Mai what is going on?

"It is very simple! You are in love."

"Hehehehe. Are you sure?! Oh, Mai did you get that report done for me?"

"Well, that is why I stopped by. I had a question about these figures from weeks 36 and 37. Are those the two you want kept separate since they were high sales weeks?"

"Hmmmm, yeah do that I will look at it after you done. If we need to make any changes we can do so before I take it to James. He told me this morning that the presentation is in two days. After I present it in two days. After I present it here he wants me to go to the company's sister office in Toyko and present the information there."

"Wow! That is really awesome. Is he giving you a few days of extra time so you can meet up with your friends from college and to visit your host family?"

"Well, it isn't a defintite but it sounds promising."

"When do you want to go for lunch? One or one-thirty?"

"Ya that sounds great Mai. Just stop by. Hey Mai...What do you think is the Philosophy of Love?"

"Hmmmm, I don't really know..."

"Ah. okay. I guess I'll see you for lunch then."

She looked around on her desk not really sure what she was looking for. She got up and went out to the coffee station then slowly walked over to her mail box. She grabbed all the papers in it and somberly walked back to her office. She sat her coffee next to her laptop and sat down to read her mail. As each piece was eliminate she threw it in her trashcan. When she finished, she went to her computer and opened a word document. At the top she typed the phrase, "The Philosophy of Love..." She began type the dialogue that came into her head.

The Philosophy of Love. What is the Philosophy of Love? Is it the state of being in love or is it the state of  no no scratch that out.

The Philosophy of Love. What is the Philosophy of Love? The Philosophy of Love
is the state of being in love. When it comes to love you need not fall in love but rather surrender. The act of surrending to love. Surrender to the idea that you must love yourself before you can love another. You must absolutely trust yourself before you trust another and most importantly you must accept your flaws before you can accept the flaws of another...

Before she knew it she had the Philosophy of Love and next thing Mai was knocking on the door. She handed her the report. "Good luck with your presentation."

"Thanks Mai!"

"Have you been working on your report all this time? What's that you printed?"
Reaching for her purse and coat, "Well, not really..." She then handed the printed off

"The Philosophy of Love..."

"What's this?"

"Just read it!"

"Okay okay..."

" The Philosophy of Love...
What is the Philosophy of Love? The Philosophy of Love is the state of being in love. When it comes to love you need not fall in love but rather surrender. The act of surrending to love. Surrender to the idea that you must love yourself before you can love another. You must absolutely trust yourself before you trust another and most importantly you must accept your flaws before you can accept the flaws of another."

"You just wrote this now?"

"Yeah..."

"Girl, you are so in love. Why didn't you just ask him out to be a couple yet? Tell me more about the time you spent together a few weeks ago. Please?!"

"Well, I can't ask him out yet. I have to wait. The only move I am making is to pray for him everyday and then praying for guidance of God on our relationship. I am not rushing into love anymore. It is just like me running a stop sign; you just rush right through and nothing amounts of it. This time I am stopping at the stop sign and am going to enjoy the ride to and then the pause and then the ride through the stop sign. This relationship is different Mai, very different from the others."

"Hmmmmm, Tell me more about your trip to see him..."

"Well, What do you want to know about? Oh, What are you going to order?"

"Hmmmmm, Tell me about the Lake. I think that I am going to get the chicken."

"Mai, I've told you this part a million times... It is not going to change... As before, we pulled into the Lake area. Then we walked to the Lake front. Then we sat down and chatted. End of story! Ahhhh..."

"Oh come on... What did you talk about? Did he kiss you? Did you hold his hand? What happened after you chatted?"

"We talked about our relationship, the promises, the prayers. We did hold hands, we did cuddle and we did kiss...Okay is that what you really want to know? He is just so romantic and he knows exactly what I love. After we finished we just walked back to his car..."

"Awwww...He is so romantic. You should go visit him again in the next month or two. I think that you guys are meant to be together. I just have this feeling."

"I hope you're right Mai. I just hope that it works out. I don't want him to run away as soon as I stop at the stop sign. I guess that we should get back to the office."

"Yeah I guess your right."

They walked back to the office, the wind blowing in their faces like someone had turned on a huge fan. Before long they were back to the office. Each went their own way. When she got back to her office she took off her coat and sat down at her computer. She checked her email, but had the curiosity to go back to her earlier word document. She pulled it up with a double click. She hit print and waited for the paper to come out of the printer. She grabbed the paper and read over it. "Am I really in love?" She questioned herself. "I just don't understand some things. Does he really love me? Does he think that I am his soul mate? He makes me feel like no other person does. He has inspired me to do so many things I never would have done. I don't want to end up getting hurt in the end. Will this relationship amount to a great romance? Is he my soul mate? How can I keep from being so confused?"
All of a sudden she was dropped back to Earth by the knocking of her boss James on her door. "Hello! Are you okay? You must be in very drrp thought about something!"
"Oh hi James. What can I do for you?"
"Do you have that report for me?"
"Oh yeah. IT is almost finished. Just let me look over it quickly."
"Okay no problem. Uhmmm, how long do you want to spend in Tokyo?"
"Well, how long will it take me to complete the work you have for me?"
"I would say that there is probably two days work, plus I would estimate about four days traveling, so far I would say that you are looking to six days."
"James I know this is more of a personal favor, but is there any way I can take two extra days of personal time in Japan? I really want to go and visit my host family from when I studied there."
"Well...
